Last Friday, I ventured to Soho with a few friends for something a bit different. We decided to try Ceviche, I'm not sure quite how one would describe the type of food... but I guess, Peruvian Tapas would sort of hint at it.
We decided on a selection of Ceviches, which is fish, cooked with Amerillo chilli, tigers milk and infused with citrus. (As it is their speciality we took a risk - and it was delicious.) we also played it safe with some Chicken Tequinos (a sort of deep fried, though not greasy, bite size chicken and cheese tortilla) and a selection of other delicacies. All of which were delicious, and washed down with an array of Pisco Cocktails, the Peruvians national drink.
We worked our way through the list, straying from my usual vodka tonics, they only serve pisco here! One of my favourites I think was the 'Eucalyptus Chilcano,' which consisted of Eucalyptus infused pisco (which must have some health benefits) with ginger ale, lime, and cinnamon sprinkled on top.. It was interesting, rather strong, and with its similarities to a cinnamon swirl danish pastry, made them very easy to drink.
It was the start to a brilliant evening, which involved further cocktails in soho, and Tuc Tuc races down Picadilly. I can strongly recommend a visit, but perhaps worth booking! And don't be tempted to forget pudding, the crispy cookies, filled with chocolate fudge were unbelievable!
